During our trip to Tanzania we enjoy the unique flora and fauna of the savanna: the African landscape, volcanoes, giraffes and sleeping lions resting on the branches of the acacia trees. We get to know the local nomadic tribes, whose way of life has hardly changed over the centuries. At the end of this eventful journey, we will relax on picturesque beaches of Zanzibar. The azure blue water of the Indian Ocean, the colorful corals, the tropical palm trees and the white sandy beach - here you will discover a real paradise in Eastern Africa.

1st highlight: Excursion to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and hike along the Enduro Trail
We will spend the second day of our trip in the unique Ngorongoro reserve and gain first insights into the beautiful nature of Tanzania. It consists of a colorful mixture of East African landscapes, which are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Part of the territory is located in a huge crater with an area of 265 km² and is a truly fantastic sight. It is home to around 25,000 large mammals and also has the highest density of predators in all of Africa.
Together with a local guide, we explore the Enduro Trail, which is framed by exotic plants. The trees around the path are a great playground for many species of monkeys and colorful parrots.

2nd highlight: Visit to the city of Mto wa Mbu - a home for around 120 tribes of Tanzania
In the afternoon, we visit the small town of Mto wa Mbu - a true intercultural whirlpool and a mixture of different languages and customs. Representatives of 120 Tanzanian tribes live here. Colorful national clothes, ethnic handicrafts and African paintings are to be found. Mto wa Mbu is a fantastic place to learn about this unique folk art and customs of the local people. In the evening we visit a local bar to try "Mbege", a banana beer from the Chagga tribe.

Highlight: Drive to Lake Manyara including a picnic on the shores of the lake - all day
On the third day of our trip we drive to Lake Manyara - also known as the "source of life" - and at the same time the oasis for hundreds of thousands of animals of the savannah. The lake extends over a length of 50 km and combines 5vegetation zones. The density of mammals here is one of the greatest in the world!!If we are lucky, we will see a lion resting in a treetop. Due to the heat, they spend the day at a height of 6 - 7 m on the lookout for possible prey.
The lake itself is surrounded by a beautiful national park, in which many groups of baboons and "blue" monkeys live. Most of the time you can also spot a multitude of hippos, zebras, antelopes or a leisurely migrating herd of elephants.
For lunch we have a picnic by the lake. We enjoy the view of passing giraffes, buffaloes and many other residents of the park infront of the background of the blue water and the lush green hills.

Highlight: Safari in Serengeti Park - full day
Our journey continues into the heart of Tanzania and thus towards the Serengeti Park - one of the most famous and most beautiful wildlife parks in Africa! A real African safari with jeeps through the dreamy valley is waiting for us behind the gates of the park. Have your cameras ready, there will be many unforgettable moments!
The Serengeti Park is an ideal habitat for a multitude of wild animals: giraffes, hippos, buffalo, elephants, antelopes, leopards, hyenas and many others. The chances of seeing one or more of the "Big Five" during these next two days are almost 100%! In Addition, Serengeti Park is home to the largest mammal migration on the planet. From May - December around 2 Mio. animals - mainly wildebeest, but also elephants, antelopes, gazelles and zebras - follow the migratory rainy areas and the huge grassy areas from south to north.

Overnight in the "Baobab Lodge" in Serengeti
For the next two nights, "Baobab Serengeti" - Lodge will be our home and our personal oasis. Here we rest after our eventful safari. The camp is beautifully located on the Orangi River and thus in the midst of breathtaking nature - a perfect place to enjoy the quiet of the evening.
1st highlight: Experience the Serengeti from above (option)
On the 5th day of our tour we have the opportunity to see the Serengeti from above with the help of a hot air balloon. From above we have a fantastic view over a large part of the Serengeti. Groups of elephants wander along the banks of the river and enjoy eating water plants or reeds. Not far from them one can spot giraffes with their typical strutting gait, which stretch their long, elegant necks high in the air and graze on acacia leaves with their long tongues. From up here you can experience the golden dawn with an unforgettable sunrise.

2nd highlight: safari tour
After this wonderful balloon ride, we continue on a safari tour. Today we have another opportunity to look at the vast savanna that is expanding in front of us, getting to spot lions, giraffes, antelopes, leopards, wildebeests, cheetahs and elephants. You can already look forward to unforgettable nature experiences!

Overnight in the "Baobab Lodge" in Serengeti

The balloon ride usually takes around 60-90 minutes, depending on weather conditions. Upon landing, you will be greeted with a glass of champagne and breakfast in the open air.
In order to ensure a place in the basket of the hot air balloon, we recommend that you book before you start your journey. A booking en route is basically also possible, but we cannot guarantee participation in this case.
Balloon ride cost: US $ 600 per person.

1st highlight: Safari through the Ngorongoro crater
After a traditional African breakfast, we set out to explore the crater of Ngorongoro Park and see its breathtaking expanse.
In addition to the many animals and plants, the area around the Ngorongoro Crater has always been home to people. This has been evidenced by important finds in paleontological sites and human remains in the Olduvai Gorge. During our safari we visit the Olduvai Museum, in which we see anthropological artifacts and fossilized traces of our human ancestors who lived in this place 3.6 Mio. years ago.

2nd highlight: Visit to a Maasai village
In addition, one of the most famous tribes in Africa - the Maasai - has been living in the crater for over 2 centuries. Despite the development of modern civilization, they have almost completely preserved their traditional way of life and a visit to their village allows us to experience the merging of tradition and history of the country up close. Despite the fact that the Maasai are considered intrepid warriors, the truth is that they are extremely sociable. Therefore, during our visit, we can not only watch their fiery dances, but also take part in them! Look forward to special experiences with these traditional and proud representatives of African culture in their beautiful, colorful clothes.

1st highlight: Excursion to Lake Eyasisee
On the 7th day of our trip, an exciting excursion to Lake Eyasisee is planned. The wilderness of the region varies greatly with the season. During the rainy season, the lake's salty waters are home to a huge population of pink flamingos and brilliant white pelicans. In the dry months it turns into a red desert.

2nd highlight: getting to know the Hadza and Datooga tribes
For the Hadza tribe, Lake Eyashi has been their home for 40,000 years. Like their ancestors, they are mostly hunters and gatherers. They carefully cultivate the customs of their tribe, which is why we even have the opportunity to experience some of them. Among other things, we can take part in their morning hunt and in the traditional way of honey extraction. In addition, we experience unique dance performances.
Not far from them there is another traditional tribe who are known for their proud people and strong warriors. The Datooga are well known for their blacksmithing and their work with traditional copper bracelets and necklaces. Datooga women are known to be gorgeous and graceful. Some of them have traditional tattoos around their eyes. The meeting with guests is a special event in the village and is accompanied by the happy singing of their wives. Visitors are considered "holy" because the Datooga associate happiness and prosperity with them.

Highlight: Safari in Tarangire National Park - full day
The Tarangire National Park looks exactly as we imagine Africa to be: green acacia forests that contrast with the hot savannah, as well as endless valleys and huge, exotic baobabs. This park is one of the best safari destinations in Tanzania and is captivating by its beautiful look.
The Tarangire River runs through the entire park and flows into Lake Manyara. The park owes its name to the river. The total area, including the surrounding territories, covers an area of 20,000 km², in which many animals of Africa find a home. The various plants in this place form a dense forest that provides nesting sites for over 500 species of birds. The trees are also very popular with lions, leopards and pythons. In addition, Tarangire is widely known as the "Elephant Park". There are believed to be around 4,000 of them here. With a bit of luck, we can watch a herd of elephants at a watering hole as they relax in the cool water and play with each other.

During the following days you can look at an abundance of exotic marine life including corals, starfish, sea turtles, rays, moray eels, dolphins and lots of colorful reef fish.
