FROM LISBON TO MADEIRA - THE ISLAND OF ETERNAL SPRING
Our journey begins in Lisbon, where we immerse ourselves in the pulsating life of the Portuguese and get to know the main attractions of the capital. We also visit the romantic castles of Sintra and experience the beauty of the ocean at the westernmost point of Europe, the Cabo da Roca.
In the second part of our trip we explore Madeira, the dreamlike flower island in the Atlantic Ocean with its fantastic landscapes and unique parks. We get to know both the western and the eastern part, visit the second highest cliff in the world, the village of Santana with its thatched, triangular houses and dive into the pools of natural volcanic rock in Porto Moniz.
In the second part of our trip we explore Madeira, the dreamlike flower island in the Atlantic Ocean with its fantastic landscapes and unique parks. We get to know both the western and the eastern part, visit the second highest cliff in the world, the village of Santana with its thatched, triangular houses and dive into the pools of natural volcanic rock in Porto Moniz.

1st highlight: City tour of Lisbon
After breakfast we start our first day with a city tour of Lisbon: the Castelo de São Jorge, the great Rossio Square, the fairytale cathedral Igreja de Santa Maria Maior and the National Museum of Ancient Art with its unique collection of paintings and statues.
Then we continue to stroll through the districts of the village, including the picturesque Chiado. This district is best known for its lively streets with the numerous shops that invite you to stroll and its wonderful theaters, which are often located in historical monuments.
2nd highlight: District "Alfama"
We follow the cobbled streets of the old town to the charming Alfama district, which is the oldest district in Lisbon. Due to its central location, it was the only district that survived the great earthquake of 1755 almost unscathed. Typical are the narrow, labyrinthine lanes and the local people's laundry hanging across the streets.
3rd highlight: free time
In the afternoon you get to enjoy some free time in the city. If you need tips, you can ask our guide.

1st highlight: Sintra
We drive through the pine-covered hills of the Serra de Sintra. The somewhat cooler climate of this region inspired the Portuguese kings to build their breathtaking palaces and castles here. Once in the small town, we now have the whole day to marvel at the magnificent houses and impressive sights. We come to the city palace Palacio Nacional, which is considered the symbol of the city. With its red roofs and tall conical chimneys, it can be seen from afar and is an ideal orientation point to not get lost in the streets. Another impressive structure is the Pena Palace. With its colorful facade, romantic architectural style and picturesque surroundings, you feel like you're in a Disney movie.
2nd highlight: Cabo da Roca
In the evening we drive to the westernmost point of the European continent Cabo da Roca, which is considered one of the most magical places in Portugal. Here we have a breathtaking view of the sea, the vastness of which inspired the Portuguese to discover new countries. Finally we drive back to Lisbon in the light of the setting sun on the coast of Portugal.

It delights its visitors with monumental churches, historical squares, gleaming white houses and medieval streets that give the place a romantic flair. Today we are discovering a city that emerged from the most diverse cultures.
2nd highlight: wine tasting
After the city tour we will visit one of the beautiful wineries in the region and taste the different aromatic wines. With a lovely red wine in hand, we enjoy these wonderful moments in the middle of the country's nature.
3rd highlight: Arraiolos
In the afternoon we drive back to Lisbon and reach the small town of Arraiolos. Here we visit the beautiful castle of the place and also get to know the tradition of the hand-made Arraiolos carpets.

Our driver takes us to the airport in Lisbon, from where we fly to the island of Madeira. A local guide welcomes us there and takes us to the hotel.
2nd highlight: free time in Madeira - all day
In the afternoon you have free time.
We recommend the cute souvenir shops and the botanical garden, which is best reached by cable car (Teleférico Funchal-Monte) directly from the center of Funchal.
For lovers of history, we recommend the enchanting harbor with the museum of the football player Christiano Ronaldo ("CR7 Museu") and the farmers' market "Mercado dos Lavradores" with its charmingly tiled tiles according to Portuguese tradition.

Our tour takes us through the pretty fishing village of Câmara de Lobos and continues to Cabo Girão, the second highest cliff in the world. Standing on a platform made out of glass, we can look into the dizzying abyss and enjoy the wonderful view of Funchal and the ocean.
2nd highlight: Ribeira Brava
Next we drive over the Encumeada pass to Ribeira Brava. We stop at another wonderful viewing point in the mountains, from where we have a fantastic view of the north and south coast of this enchanting island.
3rd highlight: São Vicente and Porto Moniz
We reach São Vicente, one of the beautiful villages in the north of Madeira. Then we come to Porto Moniz. There are pools made of natural volcanic rock that invite you to swim and relax in a wonderful atmosphere.
After lunch we cross Madeira's highest plateau with all its spectacular panoramas and the enchanting flora before we drive back to the hotel.

After breakfast we continue to explore the island and drive up to the mountain Pico do Arieiro. At a height of 1,818 m, it is the third highest peak in the region and offers a breathtaking view of the beautiful valley.
2nd highlight: Santana
Afterwards we drive through the wild and romantic forest to the cute little houses of Santana. These triangular and traditionally thatched houses are probably the most famous sight of Madeira.
3rd highlight: coastal landscapes and Ponta de São Lourenço
Passing other villages and coastal landscapes, we arrive at the easternmost point of the island, which enchants us with its wonderful panoramic view. Here we spend our lunch break and continue to Ponta de São Lourenço. A fantastic combination of rocks, sea and nature come together in this place.
4th highlight: Machic
We finally make the last stop of the day in Machic. This is a lookout point from which you can look over the entire bay and the golden sandy beach of the region.
In the evening we return to Funchal along the coast and enjoy the beautiful sunset of the island again.
