1st highlight: city tour
Today we start our tour through the beautiful fjord city of Oslo. We take a look at the royal castle, the opera house with its sloping facade that you can walk up to the roof, the Akershus fortress and the town hall. This was built as a symbol of Norway's independence from the Union with Sweden and looks majestically over the harbor of the Oslo Fjord. After taking a look at its artistically decorated halls, we enjoy the exhibition of various sculptures on a walk through Frogner Park. At the famous Olympic ski jump Holmenkollen we have time for lunch with a panoramic view.

2nd highlight: Fram Museum
We end our tour with an exhibition about record-breaking polar expeditions and the strongest wooden ship in the world, the polar ship Fram.

1st highlight: Drøbak
Today we visit the Christmas town of Drøbak. About 30 min south of Oslo is the small town, which, with its small, narrow streets from the 18th century, old wooden houses, cute shops and art galleries, is the perfect place for a leisurely winter stroll. Located in the center is the Christmas house and Santa's post office. This exhibition is Norway's largest Christmas exhibition and is open all year round. As a souvenir, you can post Santa's official postmark on your Christmas mail.

2nd highlight: free time
The rest of the day is entirely up to you. We recommend you take a look at the Oslo Christmas Market or learn about traditional buildings, folk art and Sami culture in the open-air museum of Norwegian cultural history.

Drive to Lillehammer

1st highlight: guided tour in Lillehammer
After breakfast, our driver picks us up at the hotel and takes us to the main train station in Oslo, from where we can take the train to our next destination in 2 h. During the trip we catch glimpses of forests, snow-covered meadows, small towns, Norwegian farms and the lake Mjøsa, the largest inland lake in Norway. Our destination for the day, Lillehammer, is also located on the partly frozen Mjøsa. The 1994 Winter Olympics were held here and it has been a tourist attraction ever since. We will stroll through the streets of Lillehammer decorated with colorful wooden houses and learn more about the history of the city.

2nd highlight: Maihaugen
We also take a look at the largest open-air museum in Norway. Over 200 buildings give an impression of Norwegian architecture and show how the life of Norwegians was shaped then and now. So that we don't get too cold, we warm up again in the Olympic Museum and learn more about sport, the achievements of athletes and national heroes.

1st highlight: dog sledding
After you have had breakfast at the hotel, your driver will pick you up and take you on an experience that you will not forget for a long time. For the next 1.5 h you slide in a dog sled at a rapid pace through beautifully snow-covered winter landscapes and can enjoy the view of the surrounding mountains, lakes and forests. Learn how to drive such a dog sled, motivate and cuddle the cute animals or play with the dogs after your sled ride.

2nd highlight: The Norwegian Scenic Route Rondanevegen and Sohlbergplassen viewing platform
After this exciting tour we move on to our next destination - Røros. On the way there we drive along the Rondane National Park, on one of the 18 Norwegian landscape routes. We make a short stop at a viewing platform that meanders through the pine trees on the edge of the national park, and overlooks Lake Atna and the 2000 m high mountains of the national park. Enjoy the sight of Norwegian nature as the low sun hits the snowy peaks and makes the snow glisten.

3rd highlight: drive to Røros
Røros is about 4 h north of Lillehammer and is not far from the border with Sweden. The mountain village has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is known as one of the oldest wooden towns in Europe. On our trip we have a large selection of regional restaurants for our lunch.

1st highlight: Røros city tour
On today's city tour with our guide, we get to know this dreamy place well. The wooden structures and houses from the 17th / 18th Century, in which houses, small shops, workshops, art studios and galleries are hidden, are lined up in rows and give Røros an authentic charm.

2nd highlight: visit to a reindeer farm
Around 20 Sami families, the natives of Scandinavia who are famous for their reindeer farms, still live in Røros. Today we experience reindeer up close on such a farm. In the reindeer sleigh we drive through the cold winter landscape and also get the chance to feed and pet the hungry animals. After our excursion we will have a traditional Sami lunch together.

3rd highlight: free time
The rest of the day is at leisure. Our guide will give you tips on how to spend your free time on your last day in Norway.

Overnight in Røros

Breakfast and transfer to the airport
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the train station in Røros for the approximately 5-hour train ride to Oslo Airport.
Your return flight ends the tour.
