Lviv is one of the most beautiful cities in Ukraine and Eastern Europe. Over the centuries, the city's power and appearance have changed, but the atmosphere has always remained the same. We also stroll through old avenues where kings and emperors used to drive and discover the opera, the ballet theatre, the Cathedral of St. George and the Galician Sejm (Parliament). We end this exciting tour with a short hike up the 413 m high mountain of the city, from which we then enjoy the wonderful view.

1. Highlight: walk along Lychakivska Street
We start our excursion on the longest street in Lviv - Lychakivska. It starts from the Glinyansky Gate and is an integral part of Lviv. The main trade route to the east - the Glinyansky tract - is an important and historic site where the city has repeatedly repelled attacks from Tatars. Almost every building here has its own exciting story.

2. Highlight: open-air museum "Shevchenko Hai"
Our path takes us further to the Ascension Mountains, where the impressive open-air museum "Shevchenko Hai" is located. It is located on the forested hills in the north-eastern part of the city - in the middle of the Imperial Forest - on an area of about 84 ha. The open-air museum combines a hilly landscape and historical buildings from different regions of Western Ukraine. The exhibition includes about 120 monuments of folk architecture. In addition, the museum houses about 20,000 items of everyday life and applied arts, divided into 6 ethnographic zones. Each zone is a mini-village, consisting of from 15 - 20 monuments of folk architecture.

Free time
You can organize the afternoon as you wish. Our tip: Visit the famous chocolate factory in the city center.

1. Highlight: city tour of Kyiv
The next few days we devote ourselves to getting to know Kyiv- a lively metropolis that has well-preserved monumental buildings, monuments and monasteries, as well as the secrets of past centuries. We start our excursion on the boulevard "Taras Shevchenko". We continue through Besarabska Square and the city's central avenue - the Kreschatik - to the well-known Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Independence Square). During our walk we can feel the rhythm of modern Kyiv and learn more about the history and life in the city.

2. Highlight: Visit to the Kyiv Cave Monastery ("Petcherskaya Lavra")
After lunch we continue our tour and drive to Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, one of the most important orthodox monasteries in Ukraine. It was founded in the 11th century and is located in a picturesque area on the right bank of the Dnepr. To this day, it preserves many sacred relics and ancient historical monuments.

1. Highlight: Walk through the Andriyivskyy Descent
Andriyivskyy Descent is a museum street and one of the most popular tourist attractions in Kyiv. The trail has owed its name to St. Andreas Church since the 18th century. The buildings along the street, such as the M. Bulgakov Museum and Richard the Lionheart Castle house art galleries, exhibitions, theaters, art workshops, as well as numerous outdoor souvenir shops. Many famous personalities such as scientists, writers, composers, painters and sculptors lived and worked here.

2. Highlight: Podil
Podil is the oldest district in Kyiv. Here we find, among other things, log houses from the 10th century and sidewalks from the 9th-11th century. During the Kievan Rus' period, the district was the city's commercial and handicraft center. The most important trade route passed through here and numerous ships docked at the piers. The first pharmacy in the city, the first mill and the first markets of the city fair were also built here. Our excursion will take us through narrow streets, mysterious courtyards and churches of different eras, teaching us more about the capital's past and present.
