1. Highlight: Walk through the Andriyivskyy Descent
Andriyivskyy Descent is a museum street and one of the most popular tourist attractions in Kyiv. The trail has owed its name to St. Andreas Church since the 18th century. The buildings along the street, such as the M. Bulgakov Museum and Richard the Lionheart Castle house art galleries, exhibitions, theaters, art workshops, as well as numerous outdoor souvenir shops. Many famous personalities such as scientists, writers, composers, painters and sculptors lived and worked here.
2. Highlight: Podil
Podil is the oldest district in Kyiv. Here we find, among other things, log houses from the 10th century and sidewalks from the 9th-11th century. During the Kievan Rus' period, the district was the city's commercial and handicraft center. The most important trade route passed through here and numerous ships docked at the piers. The first pharmacy in the city, the first mill and the first markets of the city fair were also built here. Our excursion will take us through narrow streets, mysterious courtyards and churches of different eras, teaching us more about the capital's past and present.
