1st highlight: Capilano River Hatchery
After breakfast we start our first highlight - a breeding station for salmon. The station was built in 1971 to stop the dwindling fish population and thus protect part of this land. Here we can witness how the silver salmon, glittering in the sun, make their way up the river to lay their eggs.

2nd highlight: Capilano suspension bridge
Follow us further into the wild and romantic nature of Canada. This is considered to be one of the top attractions in Vancouver and, with its 137 m length, is a really impressive panorama. We enjoy a fantastic view of the crystal clear Capilano River at a height of 70 m, which is framed by the massive trees of the temperate rainforest. In addition, we hike at the height of the treetops, the so-called Treetop Adventure, and along the Capilano Canyon.

1st highlight: Granville Island
This little oasis in the middle of the bustling city is the cultural hub of the city, home to the famous public market and the art and theater scene of Vancouver. Here we meet friendly traders, try exciting dishes, let the street artists draw us and hopefully witness one of the numerous theater performances.

2nd highlight: Museum of Anthropology
After a relaxed lunch break, we visit the traditional museum, which particularly focuses on its international historical exhibits. Here we find a large number of indigenous works of art, an immense collection of photographs and the second most important ceramic collection in the country.

1st highlight: Cypress Mountain lookout point
We start with a fantastic drive to the best viewing point in Vancouver. We are rewarded with a fantastic view of Mount Baker volcano and Georgia Strait, a waterway that separates Vancouver Island from the mainland. On request, we also have the opportunity to experience the beautiful sunrise from this point.

2nd highlight: Stanley Park
After a short break, we will continue our Vancouver tour with a scenic bus ride through Stanley Park. With an area of almost 400 ha, it is one of the most impressive green spaces on earth. And thanks to the continuous maintenance of the city, this dreamlike place still looks like it looked 100 years ago.

3rd highlight: Stanley totem poles
With their bold colors and detailed carvings, the totem poles are one of the most visited attractions in the park. They play an important role for the indigenous tribes of North America as they tell a part of their story. Among other things, they were set up to commemorate the deceased, to represent the position of a family within society or to represent a family tree. The best known is called "Raven - the spirit of transformation" and it represents a white raven.

1st highlight: Sea to Sky Highway
Today we make our way to Whistler. We're driving on one of the most beautiful highways in North America. The "Sea to Sky Highway" is officially known as Highway 99 and leads along the impressive coastal and mountainous landscapes of the province.

2nd highlight: Sea to Sky Gondola
Shortly before Whistler we make our first stop of the day and get on board the Sea To Sky Gondola. This spectacular technical masterpiece lies in a dreamlike setting and represents the gateway to numerous adventures. We hike through a romantic landscape and look at the wonderful "Shannon Falls" and the Sky Pilot suspension bridge.

3rd highlight: Shannon Falls
At 335 m, the waterfalls are among the highest in the province. We can also hike through the ancient rainforest, enjoy the landscape and have a refreshing picnic in the midst of this beautiful nature.

Overnight in Whistler

1st highlight: peak-to-peak gondola
This cable car is known for its wonderful 360 ° panoramic view of Whistler Village: mountain peaks, lakes, glaciers and forests of the region. Thanks to the special glass floor of the gondola, we can also see the beautiful landscape pass by from above.

2nd highlight: Whistler Village
This district of Whistler is also called the "beating heart" of the social community. Whether culture or food, education or entertainment, shopping or nature - there is something for everyone to see. Enjoy this experience with all your senses and get to know the place.

Highlight: Squamish Lil'Wat Cultural Center - Full Day
The cultural center is dedicated to the original inhabitants of the region, the Squamish Nation and the Lil'wat Nation. They have set themselves the goal of passing on, preserving and using cultural knowledge to establish respect for the history of the First Nations. Special attention is paid to the society and legends of the indigenous people of Whistler.

Overnight in Whistler

1st highlight: Horseshoe Bay
On the way to Ucluelet we travel south along the Horseshoe Bay and enjoy the fantastic view of the mountains. We will make a stop near Horseshoe Bay Park. Here you can either have a small snack in one of the restaurants or coffee shops or at one of the numerous picnic tables in nature.

2nd highlight: crossing from Vancouver to Nanaimo
We take a ferry from Vancouver to Nanaimo. The ferry company supports many of the province's environmental and community organizations and ensures that people in the remote places get their goods too. During this 1.5 h trip we experience the gigantic interplay between water and mountains.

3rd highlight: Pacific Rim National Park
On an area of 500 km² we enjoy the rainforest coast with its huge cedars, the fir trees overgrown with moss and the dense ferns. The highlights of the park include the 16 km long Long Beach between Tofino and Ucluelet, which is ideal for watching seals, sea lions and whales of the coastal region. The second highlight are the Broken Group Islands, which formerly belonged to a First Nation tribe and can only be reached by ship or kayak.

Highlight: whale watching - all day
Today we spend the day on a ship of the Prince of Whales, the largest whale watching company in British Columbia. The ships are among the most environmentally friendly vehicles in the ocean. We can see the beautiful coastal landscape, watch the sea lions sunbathe and, with a bit of luck, watch the whales take a breath on the surface of the water. Our guide tells us more about these giants of the oceans, life on the coast and the wonderful nature that is around us.

Free time and overnight in Ucluelet

1st highlight: kayaking
Today we paddle through the huge harbor for 3 h while eagles sail over us, seals stick their heads out of the water and the sea lions barking away the curious seagulls. We discover a hidden waterfall, explore the local salmon rearing facility and learn about the town's way of fishing.

Option 1: Rainforest Trail
This is perfect for families or people who like to walk. The huge red cedars are a highlight of this hiking trail. The second highlight is the Sandhill Creek. Salmon like to spawn in the shallow, sandy water at this time of year, which is why bears are often not far away. However, there is nothing to worry about. The animals are used to the visitors and stay at a safe distance from the trail.

Option 2: Long Beach Trail
This is divided into three beautiful sections. The highlights of this tour are the dreamlike Halfmoon Bay, which is the ideal place for a romantic picnic due to its crescent shape, and the first-nation village Esowista.

Overnight in Ucluelet

1st highlight: Butchard Gardens
We have a look at the uniquely designed landscape of these gardens on 22 ha. Over 1500 flowers of all shapes and colors bloom here all year round, transforming the park into a sea of flowers. The Butchard Gardens are divided into three large areas: the "sunken" garden, the rose garden and the Japanese garden.

2nd highlight: Inner Harbor
The Inner Harbor has numerous attractions to offer its visitors. The parliament building with its green domes, just exactly like the romantic Empress Hotel, is right on the water. The latter has an ivy-covered facade, pointed roofs and small towers. Not far away we find the colorful shops and small houses on the waterfront. Here we can spend the rest of the afternoon shopping and exploring before returning to our hotel in the evening.

Overnight in Victoria

1st highlight: Beacon Hill Park
We explore the natural attractions of Beacon Hill Park on over 740,000 km². This includes one of Canada's most endangered and rarest ecosystems: the Garry Oak ecosystem. Many of the species in this park can only be found here. We also visit the Moss Lady, a beautiful work of art made of moss and stone.

2nd highlight: Craigdaroch Castle
The house was built in the late 19th century by the Dunshmuir family with the aim of imitating the style of the aristocracy of Great Britain. The couple came to Canada without a fortune and worked hard for themselves. Thus, this house symbolizes the fulfillment of a lifelong dream.
