1. Highlight: Cu Chi tunnel system - full day
We discover the extraordinary and impressive tunnel system of Cu Chi, which was built during the Vietnam War.
The Vietnamese built entire cities underground on several floors.
The first floor began about 3-4 m under the ground, the second was 6 m deep, the third reached about 8-10 m deep. Sanatoriums, hospitals, offices, schools and dormitories were located in the tunnel system, which was connected with small corridors 80 cm high and 60 cm wide. The sophisticated system withstood several flooding, poison gas and bomb attacks, among other things.
We have lunch together and in the afternoon we drive back to Ho Chi Minh City.
2. Highlight: War Remnants Museum, French Post & Notre-Dame Cathedral
In the wake of the Vietnam War, this museum was opened in 1975 to give visitors the tragic events from the perspective of the locals. Documents, photos, videos, machines and weapons illustrate the cruel everyday life of that time.
After that we will see the beautiful French Notre-Dame Cathedral and the French Post Office designed by Gustave Eiffel. You get the opportunity to imagine life in Vietnam during the colonial times of the Indochinese Empire.

Can-Tho is the fourth largest Vietnamese city and represents modern Vietnam. On our tour we discover the lively waterfront, the city center with the Chinese Ong Pagoda or the Munirangsayaram Pagoda, where Buddhism is practiced. Monks still live in the monastery attached to the pagoda.
A great feature of the city is its rice research institute, in which innovative rice varieties are cultivated that are adapted to different regions of the large Mekong Delta.

Just outside of Can-Tho is the Cai Rang Floating Market,
which we head for with small boats. From the water you can experience the eager negotiations of the traders up close and can learn a lot about the various products and the culture of the people. Take this unique opportunity to snag great souvenirs or taste fresh local produce.

We go to the fishing boat by motor boat. The residents have founded a kind of cooperative there and here you will be explained how the different types of fish are farmed in the Mekong River.

We take a bike ride to a small village on the shore of the Tra Que Lagoon. It's a lot of fun to drive together through the numerous vegetable and spice plantations and the small villages. Arriving in the village, we learn more about farm life in Vietnam.

Take the unique opportunity to ride a mighty and strong water buffalo. Afterwards we will cruise down the river in the small, round bamboo boats, driven by the locals, so we can completely relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

The emperors of the time resided in this beautiful city from 1802 to 1945 and since 1993 the city has even been on the UNESCO World Heritage List. A special feature is that Hue is the center of Buddhism, which is not very widespread in Vietnam - there are about 300 pagodas and temples here.
2. Highlight: Tomb of Minh Mang
The pompous design and architecture of the tomb complex with gardens, pavilions, ponds and lakes, gates and statues often reflect the views and attitudes of the emperors of the time. The tomb of Minh Mang, one of Vietnam's most powerful rulers, was built in Chinese architectural style with landscaped lakes, bridges and elevated pavilions.

Together we will enjoy an evening of music and singing on a boat on the Fragrance River. A group of artists sing Vietnamese folk songs and accompany them on traditional musical instruments. In the past, only the emperor and his high officials were allowed to experience such cultural evenings.

We drive about 1.5 h and discover the extraordinary and impressive tunnel system of Cu Chi, which was built during the Vietnam War.
The Vietnamese built entire cities underground on several floors.
The first floor began about 3-4 m under the ground, the second was 6 m deep, the third reached about 8-10 m deep. Sanatoriums, hospitals, offices, schools and dormitories were located in the tunnel system, which was connected with small corridors 80 cm high and 60 cm wide. The sophisticated system withstood several flooding, poison gas and bomb attacks, among other things.
