Today Svaneti is a real magnet for mountain lovers in both, summer but also in winter. Svaneti ski resorts are usually open from November - May, but the peak of the season is from December - March, when the mountains have most of the snow. The climate is quite mild, the air temperature is around -1 to 3 ° C, it is mostly sunny and windless. Our journey start in the heart of Svaneti, the city of Mestia, from which routes in other directions in the region start. The first Svan Resort Hatsvali is 8 km away from Mestia. Tetnuldi, the second resort, is 15 km away and has three new chairlifts that take guests to an altitude of 3,165 m. The resort offers breathtaking views and the best freeriding opportunities. During free time in Mestia, you can learn about local cuisine and traditions, visit the National Museum, and try Kubdari cakes.

Transfer to the Hatsvali Resort and back
The first resort, Hatsvali, is 8 km from Mestia. The valley station of the lift and the ski rental are at an altitude of 1,865 m. The lift takes you to an altitude of 2,347 m in 10 min. Two drag lifts with a length of 600 m and 800 m also operate in the resort. Recently, 3 new routes were opened in Khatsvali: red (length 1,900 m), blue (2,600 m) and a route for beginners (300 m). Snow lovers with high demands will love freeriding and skiing in this area.
Transfer to the Tetnuldi Resort and back
The second ski resort in this area is Tetnuldi. It is located 15 km from Mestia at the foot of the mountain of the same name, which is one of the legendary Caucasus peaks. Tetnuldi has 3 new POMA chairlifts that take guests to heights of 1,600 to 3,165 m. There are several slopes, the longest of which is 9.5 km. It's a great place for beginners as well as experienced skiers. Freeriding in the recreational area, which can be reached directly by cable car, deserves special attention. The relief is very interesting - there are steep slopes, fields and a forest.

In Swanetien wurden traditionelle Rezepte überliefert, welche zum nationalen Schatz Georgiens gehören. Die swanetische Küche ist für ihre Fleischkuchen "Kubdari", die Käsegerichte "Letsvmari" und das swanetische Käse-Brot "Lukne" bekannt.
„Swanetische Türme" sind Befestigungen, welche zwischen dem 8. und 18. Jahrhundert n. Chr. errichtet wurden. Damals dienten sie zum Schutz der Einwohner. Heute werden die swanetischen Türme entweder als Wohnhäuser genutzt oder sind sie unbewohnt.
Das ethnographische Museum befindet sich in Mestia und erlaubt den Besuchern, die Geschichte und Kultur Swanetiens in lebendiger Form kennenzulernen.
