1st highlight: Safaris in the Okavango Delta
Starting in Maun, we travel along the southwestern side of the delta to the "Pan Handles". The Okavango Delta is the only inland delta in the world: the annual fresh water flood is distributed over 15,000 km² of sand in a network of lagoons and canals. We drive over the western flood plains to our lodge.
2nd highlight: Mokoro canoe tour
The Mokoro is a traditional dugout canoe that offers space for 2 people each. It is steered by the "Poler" at the rear, which maneuvers the boat up the river with a pole. On this scenic journey we have endless opportunities to take photos of the colorful bird life and the animal inhabitants of the delta.
3rd highlight: wilderness hike
During our ride on the mokoro, we stop for lunch on a small island and from there take a longer walk in the nature. With a little luck we will discover endangered species such as rhinos, cheetahs, African wild dogs and lions in this unique nature reserve.
